More researching the obvious

Come on this is plain as day. Wasting university resources on this is a joke! Anyone could tell you that lower income people play the lotto in the hopes to strike it rich. while well to do people probably are less likely to play as they already have income to earmark for less risky investments, unless they have a gambling habit.

Hurricane Elida - nothing
Hurricane Fausto - a little bit of surf, but only maybe 5 hours of decent stuff yesterday afternoon
GENEVIEVE - looks like it'll reach hurricane status but reports (Stormsurf.com and Wavewatch) both indicate no swell potential.
DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN IT! Can't we catch a break here?

The drought may be over!
last hurricane I can remember in the pacific was around Sep-03-ish. hopefully things are starting to turn around. Elida might not offer a lot of swell potential but maybe Fausto can pick up the slack?

Rep. Gary Miller & TCA - dirty politics at work
I'm not much of a Trestles surfer and do not 100% agree that the TCA project to build a toll road there will directly adversely affect the break, but the whole project needs to be canceled because of this http://www.ocregister.com/articles/foothill-miller-bonds-2094499-tollway-agency
and The Governator's recent firing of Client Eastwood and his bro-inlaw from the Park and Recreation Commission (http://articles.latimes.com/2008/mar/26/local/me-clint26)
which flat out said the TCA plan is wrong. Never mind the dirt bag sufers who add nothing to the local economy, both of these recent occurrences just SCREAM dirty politics. Come on guys be a little more subtle. Gary Miller should be recalled!
Sure we need to fix the traffic problems in CA. But toll roads are not the answer. Especially with the current cost of gasoline and no clear fuel alternative source on the coming horizon. We need to build public transportation such as rail, not roads. And the TCA's argument of the toll road decreasing smog pollution is BULLSHIT! It's flawed as to decrease this type of pollution you need to take cars off the road which a toll road doesn't do.

Friday night madness - Red Bull Experiment
got off work early Friday, no surf, so decided to go for a bike ride down along the beach. got there and there was an INSANE crowd at the Samo pier and helicopters buzzing around. much more going on than a typical summer day. went down to Venice for a bit then road back to the pier. coming back I see the ramp on the pier and just get there it time to see the last jump.
